Lolita Lebron was a Puerto Rican nationalist who led an attack with on a US Congressional Session on March 1, 1954 to raise awareness for Puerto Rico's movement for independence. After making it inside the House Chamber she unfurled a Puerto Rican Flag and shouted "¡Viva Puerto Rico Libre!" before opening fire with automatic pistols. She and her comrades were arrested, imprisoned and later pardoned by President Carter.
